Concrete Patios in Tinley Park Built Around Your Furniture

Room for the grill, the table and the chairs, on a slab that keeps rain away from your foundation.

How Big Should Your Patio Be?

Bigger than most people first think. A dining table with chairs pulled out needs more room than the table alone, and a grill needs space around it to work safely. Our first question is who sits out there and what they do, and then we spray-paint the shape on the grass so you can pace it off before a shovel moves. From there the work is the same careful sequence we use everywhere. Sod and soil come out, crushed stone goes in and is compacted, and forms are set so the finished patio falls gently away from the house. That pitch matters: a patio that slopes back toward the foundation sends every rainstorm against the basement wall. The slab is typically about 4 inches thick, given whatever surface you pick, and cut with control joints laid out to suit the shape. Then it cures under cover so the surface stays dense. Plenty of Tinley Park yards have a thin builder patio that has sunk or cracked, and replacing it this way gives you a space you will use every summer.

What Is Included With a Patio?

Each patio is shaped to the yard, but the work behind it covers these pieces.

  • Sizing for real use

Outline marked with furniture and grill space in mind, not just a round number.

  • Old patio removal

A cracked or sunken patio broken out and hauled away before the new one goes in.

  • Stone base

Crushed stone compacted so the patio sits on firm, even support.

  • Pitch away from the house

Roughly an eighth of an inch of drop per foot so storms run off into the grass.

  • Your choice of finish

Broomed for grip, troweled sleek, or textured and tinted like flagstone.

  • Planned joint layout

Joints placed to suit the shape so cracks stay in tidy lines.

  • Protected cure

The slab covered and kept damp while it gains strength.

  • Clean yard after

Forms pulled, edges backfilled and debris carried away.

How Does a Patio Get Built?

  1. Shape and price

We mark the outline, check the grade against the house and list thickness, base, finish and removal in a written price.

  2. Dig and set forms

Sod and topsoil get stripped, stone gets packed down, and form boards are staked lower on the yard side than at the wall.

  3. Pour and finish

Concrete is placed and finished to the texture you picked, joints are cut and the patio cures under protection, and then we rake the yard tidy.

Why Do Our Patios Hold Up?

  • Drainage is decided first

We set the pitch before we pick the finish, because water against the house is the costliest mistake.

  • Base before beauty

Stamped or broomed, every patio sits on the same compacted stone.

  • A cure you can count on

A protected first week is what keeps the surface from dusting and flaking.

  • Sized for your furniture
  • Drains toward the yard
  • Your pick of texture
  • Cured under cover
