Concrete Driveways in Tinley Park

A driveway that carries your cars without sinking, splitting or shedding its surface after a few winters.

Why Does One Driveway Last and Another Fall Apart?

Two driveways can look identical on the day they are poured and age completely differently. The one that falls apart usually sat on a thin or soft base, was poured too thin for the vehicles on it, or dried out in the sun the first afternoon. The one that lasts had the opposite treatment. When we replace a driveway, the old concrete is broken out and hauled away, the subgrade is dug to depth and soft spots are removed, and crushed stone is spread and compacted in layers. The slab is usually poured about 5 inches thick for cars, more for heavier trucks, with reinforcement and a thickened edge where the drive meets the street apron. Control joints are planned so the slab breaks into tidy sections, and the surface gets a broom finish for traction. Then it is covered and kept damp while it cures, and we tell you plainly how long to wait before parking on it. Tinley Park driveways take salt, plows and hard freezes every winter, so these steps are not optional.

What Does a Driveway Job Cover?

A full replacement includes everything from the first saw cut to the last swept edge.

  • Break-out and haul-away

Every slab of the failed drive saw-cut, lifted out and hauled to the recycler.

  • Subgrade repair

Soft or wet soil dug out and replaced so the base has a firm floor.

  • Compacted stone base

Several inches of crushed limestone, rolled and tamped in layers under the tire paths.

  • Thickness for your vehicles

Slab depth chosen for cars, pickups or heavier trucks.

  • Reinforcement

Rebar or wire placed to help hold the slab together if it cracks.

  • Apron tie-in

The drive joined cleanly to the street apron with a smooth transition.

  • Joints and broom finish

Control joints laid out on purpose and a textured surface for grip.

  • Cure before cars

The slab kept damp and covered, with clear guidance on when to drive on it.

How Does a Driveway Replacement Unfold?

  1. Measure and write it up

We measure, check grade and drainage toward the street and give you a written price covering removal, base, thickness, reinforcement and finish.

  2. Out with the old, down with stone

The old slab is broken out and hauled off, the ground is excavated and stone is compacted, then forms and steel go in.

  3. Pour, cure and hand back

Concrete goes in, gets its broom texture and saw cuts, and sits under blankets while it gains strength. We strip the boards, fill soil along the sides and give you a date for parking again.

Why Choose Us for Your Driveway?

  • Thickness matched to the load

We ask what parks there, then pour for it, instead of using one depth for every job.

  • A base that does not settle

Compacted stone is what keeps the drive from sinking where the tires sit.

  • Honest timing on the cure

We tell you how long to stay off it and why, so the surface reaches full strength.

  • Old drive hauled off
  • Stone base in lifts
  • Reinforced slab
  • Cured before parking
